It's after 10:30 on a Saturday night as I write this, and I'm still working. Working on these rewrites and thinking about the 50-mile race next weekend and wondering which of the two is harder and thinking it's probably the rewrites.

Then my e-mail dinged. Gift message from iTunes. My best friend sent me the theme from Rocky. For the writing and the running, she said. I clicked on it. It downloaded. It played. I smiled.

I gifted her a song back. "You've Got a Friend in Me" by Randy Newman.

If you don't have one of these best friend thingy-ma-bobbers, you really should get one. They're wonderful.
