JOURNALSCAPERS I need your help

Journalscapers (who read this Journal),

I'm about to release Consumers All, a CD I've been working on for more than a year now, and probably my most aggressive effort to date, and I'll be sending it out to the LA radio stations (esp. the indie ones) shortly after the CDs are delivered to my door.

I'm thinking of sending this e-mail after hand-delivering the press package and CD to LA radio stations. Each package will be a little Kraft shopper (paper bag) with twisted paper handles, including the matchbook (labeled the Consumers All Utility Kit), the CD, and a National Enquirer style press sheet encouraging you to burn your own consumer products and announcing the end of the world with the release of Consumers All.

What do you think? .pdf's of the National Enquirer presskit are available on request:

Dear $CONTACT, $SHOW,

I’m contacting you because I’ve just released a new album, Consumers All, several songs of which will find a good home on your show. Consumers
All is a significant, well-produced, independent production and release that needs the help of people like you, and radio stations like $STATION, to help spread the word and encourage wider distribution of high-quality and professional independent music, not affiliated with any major label or significant corporate funding. The album falls somewhere between the sounds of Radiohead, Pink Floyd, and cinematic Danny Elfman, among a wide variety of other influences including Miles Davis circa 1970 and other eclectic heads like Critters Buggin’ and Trans Am.

Released on the Infinite Monopoly Records label, which I own, fund, and operate out-of-pocket, Consumers All (among other recordings not yet
released) is the product of over 10 years of active performance and recording. All songs are composed, produced, and performed by me on a variety of instruments and tools ranging from heavy percussion and digital production, to vintage organs, analog keyboards, and guitars. It’s an aggressive effort, and I need the help of people like you to get it heard.

Please have a listen—I’m sure you’ll agree that it deserves some attention.

A copy and press package was hand-delivered to your station c/o yourself earlier today.

Thank you for your time,
Barak Moffitt
