my first (and possibly last) election rally
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

Mood:
bored. tired. sick.

urg. yesterday i attended my fist election rally. and it kinda sucked.... it wasn't what i expected at all and i think from now onwards, i'm inclined to spend the rest of my weekend nights in the comfort of my home. if it wasnt for the CME project, i woulden have dragged my butt out there to be mosquito food for one full hour.
it was super crowded.(this jsut goes to show that singaporeans are not politically apathetic.) and are all election rallies held on open fields? i coulden even see who was speaking. that is probably due to my lack of height but still. all i saw was people, people and more people. and they half of them were sucking cigerettes between their teeth. if they're so bored for goodness sakes go home. i dun understand why theye were even there when they coulden help but smoke during the speeches... then came the speeches. grammatical mistakes galore. i think the people around me got kind of irritated after i corrected the 5th mistake out loud. so i kept my mouth shut and listened to the speeches....
the issues discussed were relevant and quite interesting really... and to hear them discussed from the opposition's point of view was definitely a change from what i usually read in the papers...i think that they really made sense...
having said that, i cant wait for the next elections... then i can vote...
right now, i'm trying to enjoy the last few hours of the long weekend. but i cant. there's so much work to be done. haiz. once the new week starts, it'll be back to sleepless nights, hard work, training...

to bite the bullet is to endure pain, because it is inevitable, with fortitude.
