Plain Banter
. . . lies about science fiction, and everything else.

When the writer becomes the center of his attention, he becomes a nudnik. And a nudnik who believes he's profound is even worse than just a plain nudnik. -- Isaac Bashevis Singer

Can you believe anything today?

April Fool's Day. Sometimes you see a few really funny jokes. Most are pretty lame. Google has a good one (though a bit long and overdone) here.

Not exactly an April Fool's joke, but a well-done hoax film about a ficticious Negro Space Program here. Well worth the time if you've got broadband Internet access.

My wife and kids are going to a Charlotte Symphony concert tonight -- the symphonic music of Led Zeppelin. I'm told this is not a joke, but the idea sounds pretty dumb to me (LedZep not being very high on my list of "symphonic" rockers), so I'm not going along. Woudn't surprise me if they come home and say the LedZep thing was a hoax and the symphony played Bach instead.

I'm on the lookout for more dumb jokes, and will report back later if I see any.
