Plain Banter
. . . lies about science fiction, and everything else.

When the writer becomes the center of his attention, he becomes a nudnik. And a nudnik who believes he's profound is even worse than just a plain nudnik. -- Isaac Bashevis Singer

Win some, lose some

I pawed through a copy of Gardner Dozois' latest best-of-the-year-SF anthology in a bookstore at lunchtime. (Didn't buy it yet, as I'll save a bit by ordering it and Datlow's Fantasy & Horror "best" together online). The bad news is Gardner did not give me an Honorable Mention, as he had been doing for the past few years.

The good new is that my "Letters In Transit" and "In The Loop" both showed up with a few recommendations in the latest update to the Nebula Awards Report.

I still haven't seen the review of "In The Loop" in the July Locus yet. Maybe I'll swing by a bookstore that I know carries it. For now, using the Schrödinger's cat paradigm, I suppose I can count that as both good and bad news.
