Why I haven't written much lately:

*I've spent the past week working on potty-training Coco, and spending the rest of my free time trying to tire her out. She's cute and smart, but I can't help feeling a bit exhausted most of the time. I wonder if this is what it will be like when the baby comes? If so, I want no part of it!

*Spending alot of time catching up at work after our trip. Files were misfiled whilst I was gone, prompting me to play hide-and-seek for every single piece of information that I need. Payroll last week was quite possibly one of the worst operations I have ever undertaken. It was such a horrendous assignment that I am still putting out fires that flared up from that.

*After a walk last night I am reminded of two very large reasons that Houston can't have the nice outdoor spaces that are common in other cities and countries; humid heat and mosquitos. Both can make being outdoors miserable. I look fondly on my memories of sitting in the grass in Central Park, with a 70-degree breeze blowing around us, listening to music as the sun went down.

*Speaking of Central Park and music, my John Lennon album has been on repeat ever since i got back. I hadn't really listened to it much before we left, but sitting in the park across from the Dakota where he was murdered, hanging out in the Strawberry Fields, and Brad and I having our own memorial service for him, gave me a newfound appreciation for him and his solo music.
