Holiday weekends are good for:

*Lo-fi living plans and preparations.
*Nursing the ill.
*Livingston drives that yield stuffing and babies.
*Political talking points.
*Tri-state drives...and ending up in a fourth state.
*Zombie walks on a Mississippi highway.
*Welcome home playlists paired with fruit snacks.
*Etouffee eateries.
*Southern hospitality with a side of animatronics.
*Morphing pictures to beat backseat boredom.

I almost accidentally sent an email to one of our contractors that was SUPPOSED to say "Foreman List".

I wrote "Foreskin List".

It was caught at the last minute.

*Tamales make excellent parting gifts.
*Photography classes are fun for all, Big or Little.
*Hot water really makes a house a home.
*Late-night swimming sessions are best with pool toys and a communal bottle of wine. Individual wine glasses not required.
*I have a favorite aisle in Target that has nothing to do with clothes.
*Children are the best form of birth control.
*Let's hope that after the meteor hits we don't have to
repopulate the earth, because that could get messy.

I'm so proud
My foot in the appropriate place

*I think life is trying to remind me that I'm lucky enough to have things I can feel unlucky about.

I complained that I had no time to ride my bike, and my bike was taken from me. I complained about the lack of dining and drinks, then I went out and got sick from the food.

This is all just my cosmic reminder to stop complaining.

*I'm chowing down on my very own box of crispy rice.

*The rain in Spain lies mainly in the plain...or so we shall see.

*Spooning is lovely.

*I trip and fall because I'm clumsy, but at least I do it in style.

*I won't be joining the WNBA anytime soon, but I think they are OK with that.

**Sighing off**

What is one emotion you are feeling right now?
emotive.

Who did you hang out with last night?
TLC and A&E

Opposite sex on your mind?
What is the opposite of sex? Boxing?

What's your favorite type of beer?
alcoholic

Do you miss anybody?
here and there.

Any plans for tomorrow?
bike shopping(???) and hanging with Cyndi.

Is there a person of the opposite sex who means a lot to you?
Again with this opposite of sex business!!

What are you listening to?
Ernest goes to WalMart in 5.1 (fantastic film, btw)

Are you a generally clean or messy person?
Am I clean with messy times, or am I messy with clean times?

Have you ever liked anyone on your top friends?
Doesn't having them in my top friends indicate that I like them in some form or fashion? If not, it would be "top random people I feel nothing but indifference for".

Who was the last person that called you?
Called me what?

Do you find the opposite sex confusing?
VERY! I still don't know what we are talking about?

What was the reason behind the last time you cried? and when was it?

Are you gonna be home alone tonight?
no.

When is the last time you saw a movie in theaters?

Do you still talk to the last person you kissed?
no. not at all.

Are you a morning person or a night?
both. It's the best of both worlds.

Are you there for your friends?
I'm here for my friends.

Are you a forgiving person?
I can keep turning cheeks.

Do you smoke cigarettes on the regular?
No. (Yay me!)

Are you mad at anyone?
What angers you controls you, and I am out of control.

Do you have plans for your next birthday?
To turn a year older.

Ever punched somebody?
On the daily.

Do you want children?
to do what?

You're in the hospital, who of your friends would come visit you?
The angel of death and the guy from the gas station...I forget his name.

Is your birthday on a holiday?
Usually on or near Election Day. Not actually a holiday, but still...

Would you ever be in a long distance relationship?
depends

Do you wish someone would call you?
call me what?

Do you have a job?
I have a career.

Is there someone you want to fight?
I only want to fight crime.

Whats annoying you right now?
Robots and Liberace.

No more maladies.

*I finally broke down and bought myself a nice new digital camera yesterday, so I can finally learn to get my camera to do exactly what I want it to do. This is the second new digital camera I've bought in the past few months. The Canon fully automatic that I have is still taking up residence in my purse for those spur-of-the-moment pictures that I love so much. This new mega-sized camera with it's lenses and such is too big (and expensive) to be carried around on a daily basis, but it is going to take some lovely shots.

To speed along the learning curve for the new camers, I enrolled in a photography class that starts next week. By the time my trip rolls around I should be able to take some decent photos with it.

*Gelato is lovely after a warm evening swim.

*Raises at work make me a happy woman.

*This weekend I went back and watched the first two episodes of Lost. What a trip down memory lane that was! Before the deaths of so many characters, before the Others, before we knew Sun could speak English, finding out the Locke was in a wheelchair at the time of the crash, the invisible monster that terrorized the jungle that is almost forgotten now, before the Dharma Initiative, before everything but pure survival.

Sometimes, I really miss what it used to be.

(end)

Not nearly:

*Post-dinner walks are lovely opportunities for flower-picking, spying on puppies and kittens of all kinds, viewing tree stumps suspended in mid-air, and playing percussion with sticks on fenceposts. Welcome lazy summer evenings.

*While I'm overjoyed that Obama has the Democratic nomination, I worry about the Clinton backlash that seems to be brewing. Perhaps it's comes from watching the news, or reading the angry dialogue on Craigslist. Either way, we're being pulled apart at the seams as a party. I worry about the Clinton supporters who have vowed to vote McCain, or worse yet, not vote at all.

Had Clinton won the primary, you can bet that my ass would be in the booth come November voting for the first female nominee in US history. Both sides should take a deep breath and look at what they are really fighting for, and who they are fighting against.

I see posts on Craigslist from Obama supporters that are so smug and self-righteous that it makes our entire democratic process taste just a little sour. We should remember before we speak that we are, in a way, representing our representative.

My weekend (in a nutshell):

*Little men with little dog syndrome.
*Taking over the third-row seating due to height and head room.
*Fruit snack free-for-alls.
*A countdown to Monte Cristo.
*Airport hotels that have a blasphemous lack of swimming pools.
*Geeks, nerds, and dorks, and the robots they're crushing on.
*Battle of the animatronic bands.
*Billy Bob re-introductions.
*Big chain restauraunts vs. local chains.
*Photjournalism and playground games.
*Baby eagle sightings.
*Zombie preparedness plans.
*Walks through the promised land.
*Wii introductions and corn dog bounties.
*Swimming with short film ideas.

Love, hate, and Los Simpson

Some things I love:
(A partial list, of course)

*busting a flow (someday).
*Flowers, even without a proper vase.
*Ravioli and wine followed by a drive-thru malt.
*taking pictures at will.
*Neckties and sweater vests.
*Pretties around my neck, rings on my fingers and bells on my toes.
*Trips to Dallas for the explosion documentary.

Some things I hate:
(Another partial list)

*Leaving my iPod at home two days in a row.
*Baby kittens that don’t come my way.
*Empty cartons of fried ice cream.

The jury is still out on this…
Cross my red heart.

This morning I fell witness to an injured bird being chased into the pool by a bag of Marbles and nearly drowning. After much excitement (mostly on my part), the bird was fished out of the pool with the help of a tall man who was awoken from a deep sleep and a random neighbor who had all the right equipment.

Good karma for all involved today.

Tomorrow we will rehabilitate butterflys. :)
