two degrees of separation

Two degrees of separation is all I have from the recent crash of Garuda Flight 200 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Wikipedia's article mentions five Australians who were killed. "Australian Federal Police agents Brice Steele and Mark Scott, Australian Embassy staffers Liz O'Neill (public relations officer) and Allison Sudradjat (Minister Counsellor and Senior Representative of AusAID), and Australian Financial Review newspaper journalist Morgan Mellish..." The Australians were on the flight as support for a visit by several senior Australian Government ministers who flew separately.

I learned this morning that a friend of mine worked closely for several years with Allison Sudradjat as part of the AusAID team in Papua New Guinea, and remained a close friend.
