I really feel sorry for Peter Garrett.

This is a person who joined the Australian Labor Party, and was elected to his seat, with immense 'green' credentials, and has squandered the credentials amidst the flurry of silly statements and promises.

He is now reduced, amidst the 2010 Australian election, to having children pick the "favourite" new species. (Is it an animal or a vegetable? Hmmmm.... what do children like to eat, more than lollies?) (Is that a come-down for a "popular" Minister of the Government?) (Where is this leading? The really popular Energy Efficiency Home Package (aka burning houses)", or similar, again?)

So, where is Garrett going?

And, for some years, I liked what he stood for.
