Topical

If I did what I did for my last entry and expanded recent tweets, I'd be writing another entry mostly about sports and television. It's obvious that nobody but me cares about what I'm watching, or what I think about baseball and soccer (or motorcycle racing, for that matter), but for some reason I thought I could get away with writing about those subjects anyway. I guess I thought my writing could keep people interested even in a subject they either don't know about or don't care about, or both. Hubris, that's called, I think.

One thing that has become clear over the twelve plus years I've been writing on line is that I've run out of things to say about my daily life. I've told everything I can about my family, my job, and my house, except for occasional observations on what the kids are doing lately. Yes, we have a family wedding coming up in two weeks. But (luckily for everyone) I'm a fringe player in this extravaganza. Very proud of everyone involved, but not involved enough myself to provide details. Not until the actual day, at least.

Anyway, when I start repeating myself, I bore myself, and therefore anyone who has been reading for longer than a month or two. Yes, I'm having trouble navigating the choppy waters created by the antagonism between the Boss and his wayward son, Tim. Yes, my allergies and my insomnia are still plaguing me day and night (respectively). It's all true, but I've written it all before.

For the record, in the 23 tweets I've posted since my last entry, I've written about baseball 11 times, obviously the top trending topic. I've also posted three tweets about other sports, four about General Hospital and five about other TV shows. That's it, and it shows you how I use Twitter more than it says anything about me. So that was an experiment that didn't work out, but it was probably worth the try. It could be all I have left.

1 May 2012

Despite my neglect, sometimes my garden shows me a flash of color.

This isn't a goodbye entry, or anything of the sort. I'm not telling you I have nothing left to say. If that happens, you'll probably know, and I won't have to tell you. The fact that you're still here gives me enough reason to keep going, but I might have more to say than you want to hear about the topics I mentioned above. For now, I'm taking it day by day, but if you wanted to bail, I'd understand.
