A "G-Rated Journal" That Even My Mother Can Read (because she does!)

Effervescence is a state of mind. It's about choosing to bring sunshine to the day.
Every person I meet matters.

If it's written down, I know it (If it's not written down, I don't know it)

Late-adopter still dances with glee

Fri Feb 10 - One of the best things about Thursday: I did my taxes so that I could see if I had enough to make a really expensive purchase that I'd been dreaming of for a while now. And I'm thrilled to say that yes, I'm getting so much back from the government, that I could finally afford an MP3 player. And not just any MP3... Yes, my lovelies, I bought a 60 GB (black) iPod.

On Wednesday I had dinner with a coworker from the Marine Corps base. He let me play with his iPod for a bit, and that was the clincher. The light-touch menu dial is seductively yummy to play with, and it convinced me this was the player for me.

So I bought the iPod right after work. And then Thursday night at home, and in the background at work today, I imported whole CD albums into my new iPod and experimented with the controls and settings. Even after what I consider my "bare minimum albums" there are only 655 songs and barely 3 GB of space used up. I'm thrilled to pieces, and dancing with glee.

The rest of my evening was spent at Adrienne's house, as we celebrated Nate's company before he goes back to sea again for another month and a half (he's a sailor by trade). Marcos, Mina, Adjin, Lilya, Nate, and myself enjoyed dinner together, and then I was even lucky enough to see Jeff when he got home from work.

I gave "shuffle" a chance on the short 5 minute drive home, and bless technology -- it selected songs that really matched my mood well. Oh, I am going to have LOTS of fun on my drive to and from Arizona next week and my drive to and from Vegas a few weeks later after that.

Coming Up: Shopping and cooking for Estrella, packing, and two parties this weekend. Not sure how to fit them all in together, plus laundry.

Today's Blessing That I'm Thankful For: Adrienne, and her amazing openness with her home.

Weight Loss Record:
Fri 2/10 9.8 (same as yesterday) ... although today, a second person said they could actually see a difference, plus these jeans are getting loose and my tight-fitting purple blouse fits nicely now.
