A "G-Rated Journal" That Even My Mother Can Read (because she does!)

Effervescence is a state of mind. It's about choosing to bring sunshine to the day.
Every person I meet matters.

If it's written down, I know it (If it's not written down, I don't know it)
If it's color-coded, I understand it (If it's not color-coded, I don't understand it)

Latest Car News and Bard of Caid 2009

How Do You Calculate Value? - Apparently when old ladies back into my car in grocery store parking lots, insurance companies don't care much because they think my car has "almost no value" because you can't get much resale for it, with its mileage. Yeah? really? value of a car is only street resale / salvage? I'd like to see YOUR car value based on money invested over miles driven, and current mileage costs. I can get 300 miles for $30 gasoline. Try finding that value nowadays.

So, I went to the body shop (gee, can you tell?) and I'm not sure what happens next. Know anyone who likes auto body work? Wanna help me take a quarter panel off and bend it mostly back in shape?

Sorry, please ignore my rant. I'm not in a happy place in the universe today. *heavy sigh*

Better News: Bard of Caid - On a happier note, I got the event announcement information completed and fully disseminated for the upcoming Bard of Caid competition in January 2009. This competition determines my successor as the regional music champion for my SCA Kingdom. Here's the short announcement:

Dame Eilidh Swann, third Bard of Caid, is proud to announce that the fourth Bard of Caid competition will be held at Caidan 12th Night on Saturday, January 10, 2009 (to be held in the Barony of Calafia, being the modern San Diego CA area). After consultation with Their Highnesses Sven II and Kolfinna II, the following will comprise the rounds of this Competition:

1. A period piece or an original piece in a period style.
2. A piece the performer considers his/her best.
3. A piece about or inspired by the one or more of the Seven Knightly Virtues: Courage, Justice, Mercy, Generosity, Faith, Nobility, Hope.
4. An original composition to be composed on-site, which will include 3 words announced at competition. The key words to be included in the original composition will be announced at Opening Court. The Competition will be held approximately 90-minutes later, to give the competitors time to finish their compositions.

For complete rules and information about the Bard of Caid and this competition for 2009, please see http://wiki.caid-commons.org/index.php/Circle_of_Bards#Bard_of_Caid in the Compendium Caidis (also known as the Caid Wiki).

Today's Blessing That I'm Thankful For: I suppose I should be very thankful my car runs, runs well, and I'm in good health. It's hard to remember to be thankful at the moment, so I'm trying extra hard.
