Poor Buf (our 8-month old girl) got locked up in her Dad's study last night. For some reason she didn't meow till this morning.

Tux, her twin brother, had been meowing like crazy this morning and for a moment I wondered if he was trying to warn me that something was amiss. When I finally got up, both Boy (11 year-old boy) and he were at the bathroom door, but where was Buf?

I heard a cat meowing plaintively from somewhere, and their Dad immediately said, "the living room". But I'd been there and no Buf.

In the kitchen I heard her and knew she was outside. I was worried she was on the roof (our girl's one heck of a climber), but it turned out she was locked in her Dad's study. Her Dad immediately went in to check if she'd peed inside but she didn't. I was a bit annoyed with him for that. He felt bad too and quickly fed all three of them.

Poor Buf seemed a bit lost as she ate with Tux from his bowl. He apparently didn't like it, and moved to eat out of her bowl. She followed of course, and so went a musical-chair rendition of eat-from-my-bowl.

After we got ready for work, I carried the girl for a while and petted her. She seems a lot better now. :D
