Bad Engineering

My left knee decided last night it would work up. It does this sometimes when I curl up on my workchair and sit cross-legged. This strains its non-existent muscles, it complains, then blows up into a full inflammation.

So I'm hobbling today.

The cats had no sympathy. Tux even tried to trip me up once before I bellowed, "Are you trying to kill Mommy?" while I almost stumbled down the stairs.

What is the cause of this? Bad engineering. Not my parents' fault. I don't think it is fully genetic. But realising my badly engineered knee, some school sports doctor should have advised me not to indulge in middle-distance running, high jump, judo, and karate. But no one did.

Now I can't ride a horse or ski without immense pain. The one time I rode a horse, my knees felt every time the horse trotted (I'll have to say too, watching the horses pee and poop in unison before the ride really took the glamour out of it - they never show that on TV). As for skiing, I tried it too. And tried again adamantly but was rewarded with inflamed knees for a few days.

There should be quantity surveyors in school for badly engineered knees (and other parts) to prevent this from happening to other kids. And as for my kids? I hope by that time, I can bioengineer out their engineering faults before they're born.

*mutter* *grumble*
