Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

Bitter Cold

It is bitter outside. At 6:30 this morning, it was 34 degrees. I'm glad I'm in a happy place in life, otherwise this cold would erode my spirits. Eat away at my sense of self. It is easier to delve in the dark emotions when the weather outside is cold, bright.

I am loving Berke Breathed and Opus, his comic strip on Sundays (in the L.A. Times). His timing is exquisite and his artwork, likewise.

Young son's soccer team lost the first game yesterday (against a team that's been together for two years - why that's not considered cheating I'll never know) and won the second game. So while we're out of this tournament, at least they had the full range of experience and are learning how to play together as a team.

Elder son's soccer team has their party this afternoon. Bowling and Pizza, oh joy! Once that's over, so is my gig at being Team Mom. Never again...and do I mean that!

Yesterday I started reading a 'get your financial house in order' type book, and I'm determined to follow through with what it says. Just because I'm currently not bringing in the bulk of the money, doesn't mean I can't be more responsible for our financial picture. Hubby is cautiously thrilled, I think. I'd like to get myself out of debt by the end of the year - and will be happy if I manage to substantially reduce it.

My Dad has also passed down a list of things that need to be gathered together in one place, and be in a handy list form if possible, Just In Case. He's got one and I can tell he's feeling better about everything. He's feeling old, I think, and wants to get his ducks in a row.

Speaking of feeling old...one of the gifts Santa brought me this year is a pair of half-glasses, at a 1.25 magnification. I am mortified to find I do actually need them to read fine print now. My eye appointment is on the 15th of the month...sigh.

Oh - and while we really needed a new mattress set, hubby came up with a fabulous option. He purchased one of those memory foam toppers for our bed, and it feels like we have a whole new bed! It is really scrumptious, and we slept so well this morning that we didn't get up until almost nine. Ah, bliss.

Okay, enough of a warm up. Time to get to work on the synopsis.
