Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

Crazy Days

Friday was a lost day. I drove down to San Diego to see my parents, since Mom's been in the hospital since Tuesday.

Dad is doing well though looking frailer than in the past. His garden is amazing, and I came back with bags of lemons, oranges and grapefruit, and a bunch of carrots to boot.

Mom is doing better. She was so happy to see me, so that alone made the trip worth while. I got to San Diego at about 9am. Dad was bowling, so I went to watch for awhile, then came home and snoozed a bit. When he came, we ate lunch and then visited Mom for a couple of hours, and helped her eat lunch.

We left at two, came back to the house, did the garden tour and then took naps again. A couple games of pool (we both won a game), then dinner time. It was good spending time, talking about writing, laughing and just being there. After dinner we went back to visit Mom, helped her eat dinner, and I left at about seven.

The bad part of the trip then began. I headed up the 15, and it rained on and off all the way up. There was so much traffic that I missed the 210 offramp - damn it all - and didn't notice until I saw the signs for Victorville. Just about 50 miles out of my way, and in the rain and traffic, that 50 miles took almost 90 minutes to drive. I finally got turned back around and headed west on Pearblossom. In the dark. In the rain. Bad. Scary. Long-ass drive, but I made it home at midnight almost to the minute.

Yesterday was a soccer day. Youngest son's team played his best friend's team - we crushed them, 7-1. Home again and it was time to get ready for the Galaxy opening day at the Home Depot center (a really cool stadium). We met up with friends at 4:30, ate an early dinner, drank beers, laughed and talked and walked half a mile to the bathrooms. Got to the game at 6, met up again with friends in the parking lot where they were running a bloody mary bar out of their trunk (all plastic materials)! I watched a couple guys just get plastered on Jack Daniels. *Shudder* I mean, what's the point?

The point...oh yeah. The Galaxy won! 3-2 over the New England Revolution. Easy ride home and a fabulous night's sleep.

Today nothing serious or important to do, other than foccacia to make and dinner to eat.

Life is good.
