My eldest son got home late Saturday night, bubbling over with sleepy enthusiasm about his trip. When he did finally get to bed, he slept for twelve hours.

One of the kids in his foursome got sick toward the end, so my son ended up sleeping in a chair three nights out of the four. (The boys won't share the beds. *Teenagers*!)

He took tons of pictures, even bought more film. Brought small souvineers home for all of us, spent all his money on stuff like a real tourist. He's older, more self-assured. It's like glimpsing a more complete picture of where he'll be in five years.

But he's home, he's safe and happy, and school is in it's last short phase before summer.

Life is good.
