Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

I am so screwed.

Sent a chapter for critique to a new partner - got it back this morning. She did point out what's wrong with my current WIP - unfortunately, this means (as I've had a nagging feeling for awhile) that i need to do some serious rewriting, which means I am SCREWED on my deadline unless I suddenly turn into a writing machine and pump 20 pages out in a day for a couple weeks running. Yeah - like that's going to happen.

I've asked her for some ideas, but she's a bit slow on email so it'll be awhile before I hear from her - and I can't afford to wait. Just goes to show you don't break in new crit partners with current WIPs - that's what old works are for.

Arrrgh! I hate tossing 120 pages out the window - but that's probably what I'll end up doing. Oh, I'll salvage some of it - but a lot has to change.

Okay. Buck up. Regroup, outline - then rewrite. A simple procedure - just a matter of doing it.

In other news, the arm is still turning lovely shades of port-wine and robin's egg blue, but the deadly flu-like ache in the shoulder has abated somewhat today, so that's good.

Oh, and my nephew wants Grandma Hazel's rocking chair! I'm thrilled. I've also decided to pass on the china dolls she gave to me - those are definitely for little girls, and Matt has two while I have none. It's better that his girls have them. I'll have to look up some of the Christmas ornaments, too - he can't have gotten many if any at all, and I know I have a lot. So - progress on the paring down of stuff. Can't wait until the neighborhood yard sale in June - too much to unload, and I'm starting to get itchy about it all.
