Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

Las Vegas and Home

Pages Written... 6?

I spent the week in Las Vegas, working the World Piano Pedagogy Conference. A backbreaking, foot-hurting, absolutely fascinating week. People in the Piano Pedogogy world are smartsmartsmart. Scary smart. And most of them want a discount on sheet music. Sheesh.

That's what I did. I helped my friend Bob with his sheet music business. We had 4 booths, about 60 boxes full of sheet music and music books, racks to display them, a wooden frame to put the racks on, and it all fit into his 3/4 ton cargo van. It wasn't until I found a book titled "I Used To Play Piano" that I gave up, gave in, bought the book and a couple exercise books. It's time to regain some of that piano-intelligence. I'm hoping that discipline will lead into other disciplines...we'll see.

I've decided that dimes are useless in Las Vegas, that you might as well just leave them all at home. Ditto pennies. Not even in the penny slots can you play pennies - paper bills only, please! As far as gambling went, I did win two $30 pots on the slot machines...which meant, after the coins dropped in, I was up $30. That was Wednesday night, when I couldn't sleep for love nor money and actually got up TWICE to go gamble. The next night, happy and healhty, I lost $20. So I stopped, and I'm still up $10! Woo!

Got up at 4:45 this morning and was back on the road to home by 5:20am. Parked the car in the driveway at 9:30am, and managed to avoid getting a ticket. It's divine to be home, the kids are taller, there are pumpkins to carve and candy to buy and a piano to play. My garden is thriving and there's a wind and a waning moon. I missed the blood moon and eclipse - it was cloudy in Vegas that night. But the kids saw it.

Time now for some yoga. Man, it's good to be home.
