Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

Of dogs and agents

Distressing weekend that ended well. Saturday, my little cocker spaniel, Silly, was racing around the yard barking at the neighbor dog, as usual, when she started in on this high-pitched whining. She'd hurt her paw.

She came limping to the patio but wouldn't let anyone touch her until I got there. I noticed her paw was bleeding, so I picked her up and took her into the kitchen where I cleaned it out with witch hazel, added some neosporin, and bandaged it up. One dog-cone collar later and she was limping around but okay. Of course, my day was shot - no going to any soccer games, but rather dog sit at home. Keep her calm. A visit to the vet at this point is out of the question.

Sunday, however, we had to be gone all day. Went to see the folks - it was a good visit, and we got rained on both going down and coming back. Dad and I had a lot of good talks. His garden looks great, and he showed me what he's up to in the fiction division. Very interesting!

He encouraged me to submit to an agent, and shop a couple of my older manuscripts around to the other romance houses. Hmmm.

Got home last night. The dog-cone collar was gone, Silly's bandage was gone, her foot was dirty and bleeding again. *Sigh* So bandaged her up, the kids found the cone which was shattered, we taped it and she's all hunky dory again. I hope. But it makes me pause when I think about leaving for a couple hours to go to the gym. It seems there's always a reason...!

Anyway, hubby agreed with Dad about the agent. So at 5 this morning, when I woke, I got up and put together the package for Lily. 2 page synopsis (tough to do), first 5 pages of chapter 1, a query letter, SASE, and it's ready to be mailed to an agent that will probably get flooded with submissions, since he sent an open call out to all the RWA chapters.

Eh. We'll see. At least it's something. Now to get the Aspen novel in the mail to a publisher. Hmmm.
