Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

Invaded

Hubby has been selected to be on the nominating committee for the SAG awards, which is cool. We get a lot of invitations to see showings of movies in Hollywood or Westwood, all too far away and showing at times too unwieldy to fit into our schedules.

We have received a few DVDs in the mail. Kill Bill, Vol 2, for instance, and Modigliani (which hasn't been released yet). Fine and dandy. I know the first one is violent and funny (but I've never seen either one) and I know the second one is about an artist. Terrific, I look forward to seeing them both when our schedules allow.

So why do I feel as though my home has been invaded with the delivery of The Passion of Christ, the one by Mel Gibson?

I tried to explain to my kids that my reaction wasn't because the movie was about Jesus Christ, but rather because I'd heard it was very violent, and I personally can't stomach violent movies (that way, nightmares lie). I even explained a bit about the movie The Saw (which I know about only because of the ads on TV), how I wouldn't go to see that type of psychological and physically violent movie because heck, there are better things for me to do with my time. But I don't know if they totally understood what I was saying. (And why is violence, when it's funny, okay with me? Heck, I don't have a clue.)

Are we going to watch it? I don't know. I think I'd rather see the original movie version of Jesus Christ, Superstar, to be really honest. The kids haven't seen that one yet and it's been years since I've seen it.

But, yeah. Invaded. Definitely.
