Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

Time flies...

A week ago today I made the firm decision to have surgery. Since then I've taken the deep wave hearing test and the balance tests (ooh, too much fun).

I've had the distinct pleasure of taking fabulous afternoon naps with hubby. And on Sunday we went to see Pink Martini, one of my all time favorite groups, at the Hollywood Bowl. A glorious night! And to see Jane Powell sing, live...she's 81, and her shoulders and arms look like a 20 year old's, I kid you not. I totally had shoulder and arm envy.

Spent Sunday morning at a meeting of the Los Angeles Romance Authors, and saw good friends who gave me great hugs. Yesterday I arranged for dental visits for all four of us, and had mine at 2pm. Nothing like knowing you won't need dental work too soon before or after brain surgery.

And then today arrived. Today, my eldest son's 20th birthday. Where, I ask you, does the time go? The day I first met him, I knew he was a unique and special individual. Nothing that has happened since that time has changed my mind.

Time keeps on keeping on, just the way we are supposed to. I haven't quite gotten the knack of grabbing it and using it to my advantage, though I must say I'm trying very hard.

And I keep writing. Despite all the rejections and non-placements in contests (I loved this book! I loved the writing! I just think you have a problem with the main character's age...), I submitted to another contest and another agent.

This is no time to slow down. I'm still walking up hill...I have not yet stumbled to a crawl. It will come eventually, but not today and by God, not tomorrow, either.

Next week is my second son's 17th birthday. And time marches relentlessly on.
