I'm sure that pretty much everyone has occasionally thought about what people might remember about us once we're gone. I found a quote in Terry Pratchett's Equal Rites that hits it on the head for me.

I hope people will say that I "...laughed like someone who has taken a long look at Life, and seen the Joke."
