Dark Horse The life and times of a meditative horse trainer. I'm a second generation born and raised Alaskan. I've very proud of that, my roots are here. While I want to see as much of the world as I can, I want to raise my children here. I'm a dedicated student of the horse, of life and I love to learn. I try to leave no stone unturned in my life. Nothing is good if taken at just face value there is always more, to people, an animal, a thought, a dream. I'm an intensity junky, I live my life with passion as if every action were my very last, and I love the colors that this passion has brought to me. It's my hope to share this small window of myself with my readers. If you surfed in please make yourself at home and stay a while, if your one of my loved one's who are here, I love you for all you have educated me in to make my life this amazing. |

2007-03-30 3:08 PM Blind Opposition "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence." Albert Einstein
Today is an all day Virgo moon. It makes us want to fix things, and it makes us want to fix others. Why? Because a Virgo is a perfectionist to the degree that it hurts – usually their words pack a punch for those of us who are well… Not perfect. Often when we think we are helping someone we are criticizing them. And usually when we criticize we are setting boundaries for ourselves, boundaries that we expect people not to mess with. Under the light of the nearly full Virgo moon, our words carry a nearly expanded meaning; they may cut more or sooth more depending on how we speak them. The reason I chose the quote above is because I seem to have a quandary with opposition, it seems to follow me like a shadow. It doesn’t matter in what area of life either, horse training where my ideas are complete off the wall, or at work when I refuse to back down from someone who outranks me. Usually when I encounter antagonism I steamroll it, you either get on board or I run you over. It’s not a very likeable trait unless you see things my way. It just isn’t in my nature to let my boundaries be changed, maybe because I know how delicate they are or maybe because I’m a spoiled brat. Pick one – I don’t care which you pick. Either way, I don’t usually stop until I realize I have honestly hurt someone, sadly when I do hurt one of my sweet friends it appears that most of you don’t come right out and say it because you fear the wrath that is Teresa. Which makes me smile and sad at the same time. I can’t figure out when I became so scary – really I’m not scary. I just have masses and masses of conviction. Test me – I dare you! Albert Einstein (1879-1955) was one of the world's greatest minds and, according to Time magazine, the leading figure of the 20th century. In 1905, while working in a Swiss patent office, he wrote four papers that formed the foundation of modern physics. One provided empirical evidence for the existence of atoms, another proposed the concept of "light quanta" (now referred to as "photons"), and two described his theory of relativity (including his famous e=mc²). He won the Nobel Prize in 1921 for his work on the photoelectric effect and moved to the United States in 1935 where he worked at Princeton until his death in 1955. Now here is a man who faced opposition and didn’t just steam roll it – he changed the way the whole world thinks about something. Clearly my mind is not as grand as Einstein – however I want everyone of you when you feel yourself criticizing something or feel conflict to take a look at whether or not the fearful soul who finally spoke up to you is mediocre? Or are they just afraid – before you throw up your own barriers try to speak to them directly where they are in life, not where you wish them to be. Do not be ruled by your past fears. Maybe – just maybe I’m waiting for someone to really challenge me. I will listen – but only if you scream loud enough with enough passion to burn down my soul.
