Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

From not great to spiffy

AETW: ??

I’m not having the greatest of days. I didn’t sleep well—the cretins decided to start wailing on each other. Repeatedly. Waking me up and forcing me to get up, turn on lights, and check on them. Idiots. Cretins. Furry little bastards. Anyway, so it was at least 3 a.m. before I slept, and I woke up at 8:30 because that’s when I checked the time (the alarm went off at 9). My neck was stiff and the chiro and massage helped, but the massage was a bit short because they were busy this morning, and I still hurt when I got home. I did sit in the hot tub for a little, which helped. But I can’t shake this headache.

It’s almost 2 p.m. and I have to leave by 5, which will have me sit in traffic, but what else can I do? Well, I could leave now and sit in the airport for hours, I suppose. I’m half-tempted…but I still have to pack, clean litter boxes, shower, etc. Oh, and earlier today I opened the kitchen trash to find it _swarming_ with ants. (I screamed, thank you very much.) How not pleasant.

Things are looking up. My headache seems to be gone (touch wood), the litter boxes are clean, the trash is out, and I’m packed. The car is packed, in fact, except for the ice chest, and my basket and purse. Oh, and I wrote an erotica flash, just for the hell of it. (It grabbed me, I put it down on paper. That’s the agreement with things like this.) It’s a bit too long, but I can trim. There’s a place that takes erotica flashes (100 words) and pays $2 each. I think I’ll see if I can write up 10, and send them as a bulk. Or, ooh, write 10 related vignettes and make them a story. Hmm. Must think on this.

So, an hour until I leave. I have to shower and finish up packing, and feed the cats. I _want_ to write—I must finish Chapter 11 this week! Hmmm… I think I’ll get ready to go, and go, and handwrite in the airport (sitting on the floor, as there is no waiting area at LAX except in the international terminal, which is miles away). That works.

Dove into the pool ‘cause it’s beastly hot, then showered. Found the Umberhilde pictures so I can properly explain the Arbiter of Royal Justice. Must dash. I love you all; we must have lunch.
