Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Came home to three story rejections, a gazillion annoying spams, and a couple of message relating to a personnel/volunteer issue (which I cannot speak of here). A funny card from Sarah and a sympathy card from my friend Cathi on the East Coast, whom I haven’t seen in years, but who donated food and blankets to a local animal shelter, which made me teary-eyed.

We had a pleasant mini-vacation and today’s event was lovely; I think the best part was that I figured out how _I_ do lucet cord and managed to teach two people and see their results and their pleasure at doing it. I did finish embroidering the tunic and got several compliments on it, as well as on the coronet (I thanked each person for that, and pointed them at Berengere [g]).

I have more details to relate, but they’ll have to wait until tomorrow. Crucial e-mail is dealt with, laundry is in the washer, dirty dishes are soaking in the sink, and we’re going to watch a little TV and then crawl into bed. GWW meeting tomorrow, but at a humane hour (11 a.m.). Folks are coming over in the afternoon to sew; I may join them or do work inside, depending on how I feel. Until then, g’night.
