She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

My nephew (who’s 16 or 17) is flying to visit my parents for a few days, and he’s going to fly Hooters Air. This whole concept cracks me up.

Today has been a pretty good day. I had to take Charlie to the vet (pre-teeth-cleaning checkup), which wasn’t exactly fun, but it’s a good thing in the end. We did in fact hit $1K so far this year on the cats _before_ today, meaning on just two of them. We’ll top $1.5K by the time Charlie’s done. Oh, they found a flea on her, so I had to get flea meds for all three of them, and Grimoire (and thus all of them) are on special (and thus more expensive) food.

But I don’t care, because I love my sweet furry critters more than anything. :-)

Other than that, the day was uneventful. Went to B&N for a bit and wrote and read. Talked to Ken. Made an appt to have a new windshield put in the car, which will probably mean I can drive at night again. Watched some TV. Copied some stuff to tape for a care package for Ken. That sort of thing.

Part of a review of a “romantica” novel that includes a threesome, from RT BookClub magazine: “[book title] lives up to its name, but readers who are looking for old-fashioned morals along with blistering passion might want to give this one a miss.” Old-fashioned morals! Thank you, RT BookClub, for being firmly in the present regarding personal sexual choices!

We had strong winds last night. Once again, Shamu (the blow-up whale that lives in the pool) climbed the steps, attempting to get inside but once again thwarted by the sliding glass door. The winds continued into today, hot and dry, Santa Anas or something like them. They always make my eyeballs hurt. Bleah. It was nice when I finally got to B&N, away from the pressure.
