Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

How early is too early?

Words Written: ALNM: edit and writing on a new scene that now seems to be Chapter 5. I think. Many chapters sent to Sarah.
Exercise: walking

Well, in the great list of Things I Never Really Expected to Have to Know How to Do, today I learned how to make a lipstick kiss print in a book.

It was one of those days that make me step back and try to figure out what to do with my life, because writing sucks and I don’t wanna do it anymore. Problem is, I’ve wanted to be a writer since I was about 12, so I get kinda stuck on the “if not this, then what?” question. I guess I’d go into party planning (since I like to be organized and make events happen), but that would probably require me to start my own business, and if that doesn’t sound more tiring that beating my head against a computer all day, I don’t know what does.

5:12 p.m. Wonder if it’s too early to start drinking.

5:27 p.m. Ken comes downstairs. I’m in the kitchen, scrubbing my fingers through my hair and making it stand straight up. “How’s it going?” he makes the mistake of asking. I whine about it all sucking, and ask if it’s too early to start drinking. He says, supremely unhelpful, “just do it” and doesn’t answer my question.

5:44 p.m. Give up and pour half a glass of wine.
