The Arnold Amendment

He hasn't even won as Governor of California, but some are already laying the groundwork for Arnold Schwarzenegger to be President:

Last month, Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, proposed a bill that would allow anyone who has been a U.S. citizen for 20 years to run for president. Skeptics labeled it the "Arnold Amendment," suspecting that Hatch was simply clearing the way for a Schwarzenegger White House bid down the road.

Interesting. The author of the editorial linked to above doesn't necessarily like Schwarzenegger, but he does think that immigrants should have the right to run for President, and that the Founders' rationale that it would prevent electing a foreign agent bent on setting up a puppet government is outmoded.

I tend to agree. Now I just wonder if the bill will pass.
