A Gallup poll just released indicates that Atheists are favorably viewed by 13% of Americans (probably just the atheists themselves) and unfavorably by 45%. Here's the breakdown for beliefs (via Framing Science):



We beat out Scientologists. Nice. According Gallup, though, favorably ratings for many of the mainstream religions declined since 2006. One interpretation is that Americans are getting slightly less religious, though it doesn't appear that they're explicitly getting more non-religious.
