Barnwood Poetry Magazine rejected "One Son" yesterday, telling me that it would be better if the 'parental voice' were removed in the last couple of stanzas.
"One Son" is a reprint, and I'm not inclined to change it since it's already been published as is.
Besides, it's a poem from the parent's view. To say that the parental voice needs to be removed misses the point of the poem. Or one of the points anyway.
Today I've sent it off to The Indiana Review.
