Hi everyone and welcome to another edition of "Silly Thinking With Doug Lain (Now Fair And Balanced!) guest written today by me, Jim Farris.

So without further delay lets take a whirlwind tour of entertainment with the "Silly Thinking With Doug Lain (Now Fair And Balanced!)Entertainment Roundup with Jim Farris" Report.

I was so sorry to miss Bill (No Spin Zone FoxNews hack) O'Reilly at the Rose Garden this week. Bill's playing arena's to promote a book he might have written. For balance he had local goon and talk show host Lars (is there anymore Pork?) Larson on the bill with him. I understand these two knotheads had a retired 70 plus year old "liberal" there to "debate" them. I wonder how that went? Gosh that must have been something.
I am planning on attending a car accident over the weekend to try to recapture the fun of that event.

The new conductor of The Oregon Symphony Carlos Kalamari came to town this week to begin his tenure as the new conductor. James De Priest, the beloved conductor of the symphony, was ousted last year during an unfriendly takeover. Kalamari brought his family with him to give the impression he will live here (he won't) and immediatly borded an RV and left town. Carlos will start his new job next month in a concert at Waterfront Park with a fill-in Pops conductor, concert master, second violinist, President, Vice President, and resident conductor. If you would like to know how this happen I suggest renting the animated classic "An American Tale" and watch closely how the immigrant mice leave the ship for the new world.

Murray Sidlin (the former resident conductor of The Oregon Symphony)will be on TV Wednesday night with the Symphony in a concert taped last year by PBS. "The Defiant Requim" is an ambitous and moving piece and brings long overdue attention to the Oregon Symphony. Unfortunatly no one involved with the project works for the troubled arts orginazation anymore. "An American Tale" is available on Universal Home Video.

At the movies: An exciting summer blockbuster opened here today. A fantastic adventure film that tops every other blockbuster released this year. It's the 1938 Warner Brothers Technicolor classic "Robin Hood" starring Errol Flynn. Flynn was the first action adventure leading man and certainly the best. You can see where everyone from Mel Gibson to Keanu Reeves learned how to do the stuff you thought they invented.
By the way did I mention this film is in Technicolor? With "The Wizard Of Oz" this movie shows us what COLOR is all about.

In second run theatres where you can get drunk and watch movies you can still enjoy the hilarious "A Mighty Wind" directed by Christopeher Guest or "Bowling For Columbine" directed by first class a-hole Micheal Moore who won an Oscar for this "documentary".

The Oregon State Fair opened at the Fairgrounds in Salem today. Along with events like "Les Schwab Tires Kids Day Presented by The Statesman Journal" on August 25th and "Pepsi Cola Wristband Wed presented by Jammin' 95" on the 27th you can eat corn dogs and get sick and this year they have a HYPNOTIST at the fair. A hypnotist live on stage.. or so she would like you to think. And don't forget to remember to visit Les Schwab Tires Familyville for the Marlboro Cigarettes Puppet Shows.

Well thats all the entertainment I can stand. See ya next time here on "Les Schwab Tires Silly Thinking With Doug Lain (Now Fair and Balanced!) with guest host Jim Farris brought to you by Jammin 95.5, Pepsi, and The Statesman Journal."
