Hello everyone and welcome to "Silly Thinking With Douglas Lain Now Union Made" I'm Jim Farris filling in for Douglas while he's promoting his new blockbuster tale of the wierd and supernatural Shopping At The End Of The World" now on exhibit at the "Strange Horizons" website page zine.

Here are some bits and pieces, stews and reviews, tasty leftovers from my wide ranging files.

First, I loved Douglas Lain's political expose of the Playboy mansion and softcore porn industry on yesterdays "Wednesday with Douglas Lain" here at "Silly Thinking With Douglas Lain Now Union Made". I thought it was incisive and probing. I hope his story "Shopping At The End The World" (now at "Strange Horizons") is as interesting (I know it is but see for yourself.)

I watched the luminous big screen debut of Audrey Hepburn last night. A classic from 1953 called "Roman Holiday" with Gregory Peck, it shows Ms. Hepburn was magnificent from the start. She won the Academy Award for her first performance and the film was nominated for 10 Oscars thanks to the craftsmanship of director William Wyler ("Best Years Of Our Lives", "Funny Girl", and "Mrs. Minniver",) In magnificent black and white, it's flawless. Any Audrey Hepburn fans out there? Let me know.

Recently I saw the first season of the sci-fi TV show "Babylon 5". I usually don't watch a lot of TV programs but this was recommended. What A PILE OF POO!!!! Hack Harlan Ellison is credited with some hazy writing credit and the shows performances and production quality are stinky at best. Are there any "Babylon" fans out there and can anybody give me a good reason to continue. I guess I'm asking "Does it get any better?" It must. People liked it, right?

David Kay, the former UN weapons inspector who was hired by the US to do the same thing, will issue a report in a few days where he will state that they have still not found those weapons of mass destruction while everyday Americans are killed. Invading forces that take over a country are generally not liked or trusted by the citizenry, that's history. It's as if the president lied to us.

And finally OPEC will cut oil output by 3.5% in fear of lower prices and a glut of oil now that Iraq is bieng run by the west. I really think OPEC is overreacting. Haliburton..er..uhh...the USA..uhh yeah..the US.. would not lower prices too much. I mean we have to make some money out of this deal. Right? I meant to say: The Iraqi people have to make some money out of deal. Right? Yeah that's it the Iraqi people own the oil . Sure that's right.

Well thats all for me for now but join us tommorow for the "Entertainment Roundup Report" and then on Saturday And Sunday for our internet award winning "A Few Minutes With Dead Celebrites" feature here at the only web blog site zine you need "Silly Thinking With Douglas Lain Now Union Made", and remember we love to hear from you so drop us line anytime.
