Last night, E- started reading his book selection (Last of the Savages by Jay McInerney) to our yet to be born daughter (I already finished Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and there have been various poetry readings mixed in, too).

I remember reading/hearing about how a woman's love for her partner changes with children. And I don't know if I fully believed it until last night.

I was lying there, listening to my husband, watching him pause every few moments to watch our daughter moving to the sound of his voice and I swear... I honestly didn't think I could love him any more than I already did. I never expected this unbelievable swelling of emotion. I thought for certain my heart was going to explode.

He looked up at me and saw the tears in my eyes and asked what was wrong. And all I could stammer out was how much I loved him and how very, very lucky I felt.

And when I saw his face, and he responded in kind...

My happiness seems to have no end
