A Bit of Randomness

Most people go through life dreading they'll have a traumatic experience. Freaks were born with their trauma. They've already passed their test in life. They're aristocrats. --Diane Arbus

And Yet...

When I got there after work she looked miserable. Happy to see us, yes, but like she had been crying much of the afternoon and was completely exhausted

Which I know is to be expected during the transition period.

But then she fell asleep on the way home and didn't wake up until about 7:00 when she was hungry. And proceeded to doze and nurse most of the night. Which means Eric and I got precious little real time with her. I got lots of snuggles cause she didn't want to be put down but it just wasn't quite the same as usual.

Usual, however, no longer exists as we knew it.

And then she was a very restless sleeper and was up at 4:00am. Wide awake until the drive to the daycare center. Where she cried when I set her down (just to change her diaper, mind you, but still hard to take the big, teary eyes).

We will get through this. We will. All of us will survive and possibly even thrive.

But right now? This sucks.
