A Bit of Randomness

Most people go through life dreading they'll have a traumatic experience. Freaks were born with their trauma. They've already passed their test in life. They're aristocrats. --Diane Arbus

Gotta Be the Hormones

I am, in part, blaming the past few day's worth of moodiness and whatnot on hormones. But I really did not need this morning's conversation today.

Yesterday, another mother commented to me how impressed she was with Dylan's development as she had witnessed my daughter picking up/eating Cheerios the other day.

What???? We haven't started her on those yet. And no one told me anything about it when I picked her up. Needless to say, I was a bit curious.

So this morning, when I dropped her off, I casually mentioned it to the head teacher (who isn't there in the afternoon when I pick Dylan up). I was told that this was, in fact, true. They had put them in front of her expecting her to simply bat them around - never thinking she was able to successfully manipulate anything that small at her age. However, she was and she did. At least one of them.

Miss S. then when on to tell me that Dylan started to scoot forward yesterday. While I had been working/playing with her a bit - putting toys a smidge out of her reach, moving her arms and legs to show her how it's done - she's never inched forward. I was pretty darn sure it was a bit early for that, too. Especially since she seems to enjoy rolling around on the floor so very much (unbelievably cute).

So two freakin' milestones being reached. And I f***ing missed them both because they happened at daycare.
