A Bit of Randomness

Most people go through life dreading they'll have a traumatic experience. Freaks were born with their trauma. They've already passed their test in life. They're aristocrats. --Diane Arbus

Odd Dream

(Seriously - this is me only recounting a dream from last night. Don't feel obligated...)

Last night I dreamt that I was clothes shopping with my sister. I tried on a sweater and shoes (don't ask). While I was trying to decide if I liked the look and feel of the items, a young-ish boy blocked my ability to look in the mirror. I admonished both him and his mother - his mother for letting her child run rampant in a store and him for doing so. He had had no idea that what he was doing wrong and his mother simply had him apologize to me. I pushed it further by asking him why he was apologizing and then explaining it to him when he couldn't answer me.

Finally, I decided I didn't like the top or shoes. However, when I went to change, I discovered my own clothes were missing. It turned out that my sister had bought a few things while I was busy and the store had used my clothing as an exchange. My sister was upset about the fact as she hadn't realized it at the time and now the store couldn't locate my belongings.

I went to clerk after clerk trying to rectify the situation while they all continued to not understand what the problem was - even going so far as to laugh at me. I kept explaining that not only were the top and shoes not even remotely something that could be confused with their products but that they were obviously worn. But to no avail.

Then someone discovered that my shirt had been put out for sale (on the rack geared toward Bar Mitzvah attire!?!) and had been sold. They tracked the buyer down and found that it was, in fact, the wrong shirt. This "found but lost" scenario happened repeatedly in various incarnations.

I woke up before my shirt and shoes could be located.
