A Bit of Randomness

Most people go through life dreading they'll have a traumatic experience. Freaks were born with their trauma. They've already passed their test in life. They're aristocrats. --Diane Arbus

My Daddy Has a Chipper Shredder

I used to try and imagine what my daughter's first word(s) would be. Would it be a common word like 'cat' or 'meow' or 'mommy' or 'daddy'? Would she go for something a bit more complicated like 'cushion' or 'laptop' or 'grandma' or 'grandpa'? Perhaps a phrase?

Turns out, Dylan's first words appear to be 'hi' and 'oh wow'.

Which makes me smile immensely.

'Hi' is an informal version of 'hello' and is "used to express a greeting, answer a telephone, or attract attention" and as "an exclamation of surprise, wonder, elation, etc".

'Wow' is an exclamation "used to express wonder, amazement, or great pleasure".

In essence, Dylan greets the world with wonder, amazement and great pleasure. I can only hope that she continues to find it so.
