Eric Mayer Byzantine Blog Probably the only vaguely interesting thing about me is that with my wife, Mary Reed, I co-author the John the Eunuch mystery series set in sixth century Constantinople. But that doesn't stop me from dwelling here on the boring minutiae of the rest of my life, present and past, along with the occasional word about writing. |

2004-01-24 9:23 PM The First Review This must be the week for plugging our books. Today I happened on the what looks to be the first published review of FIVE FOR SILVER, our new mystery novel which is due out in March. Thank heavens it was positive. Or should I say thank Harriet.
I understand Harriet Klausner had taken some flak for her kinder and gentler approach to book reviewing but I can hardly express how relieved and happy it makes me to start off with a good review. No matter how much I write, once the ARCs fly off into the world, I expect the worst. Maybe that's what comes from two decades of rejection slips. Well, OK. Proably not. I've been expecting the worst since I emerged into the light, after which someone slapped me so I wasn't far wrong. Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
