There is no pleasure to me without communication: there is not so much as a sprightly thought comes into my mind that it does not grieve me to have produced alone, and that I have no one to tell it to.

If in the News

For my New Year's Resolution I promise myself to update my blog regularly. Yes, I realize that is a very tardy New Year's Resolution but it pretty much sums things up doesn't it?

One of my obscure interests, along with orienteering, is interactive fiction, often referred to as If. (Historical mysteries set in the days of the Byzantine Roman Empire strike me as practically mainstream....) I was recently quoted in an article about If in Australian IT.

In Harking Back to Good Old Texts Anthony Fordham does a nice job of explaining just what the heck these anachronistic computer text adventures are all about. He also quotes Dennis Jerz , a more dependable blogger than yours truly!
