Eric Mayer Byzantine Blog Probably the only vaguely interesting thing about me is that with my wife, Mary Reed, I co-author the John the Eunuch mystery series set in sixth century Constantinople. But that doesn't stop me from dwelling here on the boring minutiae of the rest of my life, present and past, along with the occasional word about writing. |

2005-01-07 3:52 PM If Cat The power stayed on yesterday. A thaw set in. Late in the afternoon, I almost wrote about my favorite winter sound, the thump of snow hitting the ground as it falls from burdened limbs and slides off the roof. But I figured I'd better not tempt fate.
This morning the sun was out and we saw the white cat patrolling the perimeter. At first it was just black spots against the snow, then the slightly dun white of the fur separated itself from the newly fallen snow. Speaking of cats, recently I wrote one entry about cats and another about interactive fiction. So why not an entry about both interactive fiction and cats? Doom Cat!! is a bit -- a very small bit -- not even a kibble -- of interactive fiction I wrote for a "one hour competition." Since it was written and "programmed" in an hour it's pretty bare bones. On the plus side, it is very short and can be completed in 12 moves. I put it up online. Hurry! Hurry!! THE CAT IS TICKING!!! Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
