There is no pleasure to me without communication: there is not so much as a sprightly thought comes into my mind that it does not grieve me to have produced alone, and that I have no one to tell it to.

Left Coast Crime Awards

We woke up this morning to news of the award winners at Left Coast Crime:

The LEFTY for the best humorous mystery novel published in 2004.

(TIE)
Blue Blood, Susan McBride
We'll Always Have Parrots, Donna Andrews

The BRUCE ALEXANDER HISTORY MYSTERY AWARD for the best historical mystery.

The Witch in the Well, Sharan Newman

The CALAVERA, for the best mystery set in the geographic area covered by Left Coast Crime.

Grave Endings, Rochelle Krich

Congratulations to everyone. Mary and I are are still in shock, not to mention deeply grateful, that Five For Silver was nominated in the history mystery category.

However, I must say, we wouldn't have minded having the award just as a piece of artwork! Here's a photo supplied by Donna Andrews.
