Around eleven o'clock last night I typed the last sentence of the last chapter I'll be writing in the novel-in-progress. There remains to be done the denouement but Mary has agreed to take the first crack at that. Untangling the rats' nests we create is her speciality.

Now comes the rewriting and polishing. Repitition will need to be eliminated, explanations added, grammar corrected. I'll no longer be making things up, deciding what happens next and what the characters will do about it.

I've got to to leave the plastic soldiers and trucks in the sandbox, put away my cap gun. Time to go in for supper and do my homework.
