Perhaps I should rename this journal The Byzantine Weekly. Or Weather Disaster of the Month. We are ending June just as we ended May, under seige by Act of God.

Last month it was lightning, narrowly missing us, striking the pine tree behind our house. This month, a few days ago, a rainstorm swept across the entire northeast. Our power went off for most of one day. We again survived, but this time the innocent bystander that perished was a computer monitor, which couldn't be replaced immediately due to flooded roads.

It's hard enough when agents and major publishers are against you but when even Nature is out to scuttle your creative efforts...well, I don't want to sound paranoid...

I hope to post more often in July. God willing.
