Eric Mayer
Byzantine Blog

Probably the only vaguely interesting thing about me is that with my wife, Mary Reed, I co-author the John the Eunuch mystery series set in sixth century Constantinople. There is no pleasure to me without communication: there is not so much as a sprightly thought comes into my mind that it does not grieve me to have produced alone, and that I have no one to tell it to.

New Interview

Julia Buckley has been posting author interviews on her Mysterious Musings blog. Julia writes:

Today's interviews are particularly fun, with a focus on history. First, Mary Reed and Eric Mayer, the husband and wife author team who created the John the Eunuch mysteries, chat about how they work together (Eric suggests it's by agreeing to leave their weapons at the door) and how they try to capture a realistic look at Ancient Egypt.

Ann Parker writes about the silver boom in Leadville, Colorado, but she also speaks of her family, her love for Johnny Depp, and her penchant for slipping William Butler Yeats references into articles about fluid dynamics.

Ann is a fellow Poisoned Pen Press author whose books have been getting great reviews.

Julia's first mystery novel, THE DARK BACKWARD, was published in June of 2006. Her mystery series, featuring amateur sleuth Madeline Mann, starts in 2007 with PITY HIM AFTERWARDS.
