Eric Mayer Byzantine Blog Probably the only vaguely interesting thing about me is that with my wife, Mary Reed, I co-author the John the Eunuch mystery series set in sixth century Constantinople. But that doesn't stop me from dwelling here on the boring minutiae of the rest of my life, present and past, along with the occasional word about writing. |

2008-01-08 2:29 PM Different Geese The results from today's big election are in and my candidate won! That's right, Goose Gossage, the hulking, fiery, walrus-mustached relief pitcher who had some great seasons for the New York Yankees was finally elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame!
As for that other election in New Hampshire, where a bunch of silly geese (but mostly extremely belligerent and wealthy silly geese) have been honking about and someone's goose (and maybe several) will probably be cooked by later this evening....well... I enjoy following politics as if it were a horse race. At least I get some amusement out of the spectacle. I know damn well anyone honest enough to offer any real solutions to the problems the country faces doesn't stand a chance. The day one of my candidates gets elected is the day Horace Clarke makes it into the Hall of Fame. Read/Post Comments (4) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
