Today's temperatures have been stuck around sixty. For the most part it's been cloudy and gloomy. We've lacked only rain to make it a perfect English summer day....well, according to what Mary is always telling me.

If you are interested in England, Mary has a trio of essays for you:

At The LadyKillers Blog, she explores some old English folk customs in her essay Cheese and Bread and Fairies, Oh my!

She describes childhood trips to the seaside (that's the North Sea seaside) in All the Way From Russia at the Poisoned Pen Press Authors' blog.

Or if you would rather read a collection of mystery stories featuring a London based lady detective in the 1890's, there's a review at our pseudonym's blog of The Experiences of Loveday Brooke, Lady Detective by Catherine Louisa Pirkis
