Well, I've just gotten home from 8 hours at work. I'm not sure what I want to do--I mean, I ought to go to the store and do my laundry and dishes... But I so seldom do what I ought to do (grin).

I'm still in that strange mood--the one where I feel like I'm getting nothing done. I'm in my last year of law school, and I know that I should be interviewing with firms, and getting everything in order to take the bar, and all sorts of things... And of course, I'd love to spend my days playing on the computer and writing poetry. *laugh* If you need a day job as a genre writer, though, you defintely need a day job as a genre poet, I guess. I think I'm going to try my luck at working for myself for a little while...

So I've recently started playing with art again, inspired mostly by Tyree. I have a few art pieces in my chapbook that just came out, and I used a piece of my art on the website, and I've actually submitted a few pieces out... There are a lot of things I can't do artistically, and I had been letting that keep me from doing anything... As Tyree pointed out, there was plenty I could do, so why wasn't I doing it?

I'm hopelessly in love with Sean. I made this little card yesterday, with a sketch and a poem inside. It was romantic and cheesy, and I loved doing it... Hell, I love being with him.

Traci is supposed to be in town this weekend, with Chris. I hope she gives a call, as I can't remember the number at her grandmother's. I'm really looking forward to seeing her, I haven't seen her in years. Maybe I'll just swing by sometime and see if I can catch them.

I've been having a good time working on my website. I just added a little tagboard on the front of the site, which looks like it might be lots of fun. I still need to get the annotations page finished...

I watched some of the new Vampire Hunter D. Yamamoto, the artist who did Sandman: The Dream Hunters, had a lot to do with it, and the art is beautiful.

I think my favorite anime of all time is Shoujo Kakumei Utena (Revolutionary Girl Utena). It's strange and haunting and beautiful, and has a dark fairytale quality to it. Very artful.

I even loved the movie... Anime movies tend to be "what ifs" or fantasies based on the series, rather than a continuation of the series. They often go so far as to use different character designs or artistic styles. The Utena movie did the same thing, in that it redesigned the characters and the relationships (or maybe highlighted the relationships) but it used the same beautiful artistic style. More polish and detail, but the same style. Gorgeous.

Close seconds would have to be Rurouni Kenshin, Escaflowne, and Ranma 1/2. I'm sure I'll talk more about them later...

I suppose I've rambled on enough for one night. I'll entertain you kids more later.
