Oh yeah. The bills are paid. The rent is paid. Not much left, but the necessities are met. Sean is off gaming for the evening, and Ivy and I just finished watching Bridget Jones's Diary, part of Dirty Dancing, and Coyote Ugly. We also finished two bottles of cheap champagne (one Andre's Cold Duck, which I had never had before, a very tasty mix of sparkling burgundy and champagne, glad we tried it), and a slice each of apple pie with sharp chedder cheese melted over it. (If you have never had a piece of apple pie with chedder cheese melted over it, don't knock it until you try it. I think the "sharp chedder" version of soy cheese would do just as well, but I haven't experimented to know. Seriously, try it. It sounds odd, but trust me it's tasty.)

Neither Ivy or I have champagne very often, mostly because it goes straight to our heads. So sitting at home to drink it was a lovely, happy sort of tipsy. (We also had a nice dinner, as did Sean, of steak and pasta with mushroom sauce. So we were ready for bubbly. Sean can have pie when he gets home...)

It's funny. Since we've both made wine, Ivy and I tend to be slight (yes, only slight) wine snobs--but we both tend to like cheap champagne. Curious, huh? Oh well.

It's been a lovely night. It's even slightly warmer than it has been, totally independent of the champagne. I hope all of you had a lovely eve as well.
