Bits from the end of the week:

I had been bemoaning the lack of exercise I've gotten lately, so I walked from downtown to Uno's in Evansdale on Friday. (I'm guessing this is about 2 miles, though I have no ability to guesstimate distances.) It was a gorgeous day, with a nice cool breeze. Walking the hill up University Avenue sucks, but I took a break at about the 3/4 mark. Michelle's (and Mike's) house is this bright little haven of clean bright color near the top of the hill, with its brilliant red porch and these lovely little cultivated plants sitting on the railing.

The first part of the walk is all uphill, but the end is all downhill. Then the sidewalks basically disappear, at an exceptionally busy intersection, so I detoured toward the hospital and crossed the green on a strange little gravel path which has obviously been put there for this purpose. I got to walk through willow trees.

I'll be working more hours at the comic shop again, though still less than I was originally. When things are in full swing again I'll be working Tuesdays, Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons. This is good, I felt a little out of touch only being there once a week. And since I work weekend nights at the bar, working Fridays at the shop in the afternoons only will give me a chance to sleep in (since I'll be up that night until 4).

CompuHigh is going very well, I'm partway through revamping a Pre-Algebra course. I can't wait to get to put together my Lit courses.

Hogblast had a show last night at the Wooden Nickel. Early in the day we were sure the show wasn't going to happen: Todd smashed the thumb of his fretting hand in a tomato dicer. And he smashed it pretty good, bruising it and breaking his thumbnail down the center. (Gives new meaning to the words "fretting hand.") Luckily nothing seems to be broken, though he couldn't even pick up a cup. But he managed to play. They had a really great show.

I love this show.
